We all know that as women get older it’s harder to get pregnant. Two thirds of couples where the woman is over 40 will find they can’t get pregnant naturally, but a third still can. The main factor in this is probably egg quality. The effects of damaging substances called ‘free radicals’ can reduce egg quality.
There may also be decreased ovarian reserve (fewer eggs left) and hormonal imbalances. If you want to try naturally after 40, it makes sense to ensure that you are as healthy as you can be and that your body has everything it needs for a healthy conception and pregnancy.
