N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC)

N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC) is a science-backed antioxidant supplement and bioavailable precursor to Glutathione, the body's primary intracellular antioxidant. By supporting Glutathione levels, NAC contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress, a recognised factor in egg and sperm quality during the preconception period. NAC has been studied in relation to ovulation and cycle regularity, particularly in women with PMOS (formerly known as PCOS), where oxidative stress and metabolic factors are known areas of research interest.

NAC works by supporting the body's own Glutathione synthesis, which in turn contributes to cellular antioxidant defence and normal inflammatory response. NAC has also been studied in the context of pregnancy, including in higher-risk situations, where antioxidant status is an area of ongoing clinical research interest.

N-Acetyl Cysteine is designed for:

• Women and men looking to support egg and sperm quality during the preconception period with antioxidant support, both naturally and via IVF and assisted conception treatments
• Women with PMOS (PCOS), where oxidative stress and metabolic health are known areas of research interest
• Those who have discussed antioxidant supplementation with their healthcare professional during pregnancy. NAC has been studied in the context of pregnancy and antioxidant status for high-risk pregnancies
• Men with elevated sperm DNA fragmentation results or those undergoing ICSI, where antioxidant status is particularly relevant

Take two capsules daily with water, preferably in the morning on an empty stomach.

We recommend taking N-Acetyl Cysteine for at least three months before trying to conceive, to cover both egg and sperm development cycles.
