Who is it for?

We believe that taking a prenatal multivitamin everyday for at least three months is one of the most important things you can do to prepare your body for conception, regardless of your age or whether you are trying for a baby naturally or via assisted fertility.

There are many factors which can affect fertility and the length of time it takes to get pregnant. Factors such as stress, poor nutrition, hormonal imbalances and poor egg quality play a role in female fertility. Getting the required amount of nutrients from diet alone can be difficult, which is why a good quality prenatal is recommended.

Vitafem contains 400µg of natural folate (the active form of folic acid) to prevent the risk of neural tube defects. For those looking for 800µg of folate, we recommend adding Zita West Folate alongside. Our folate supplement has been specifically designed to be taken alongside all Zita West supplements.

CoQ10

CoQ10 is a fat-soluble compound which is important to our overall health as it is present in almost every single cell in our body. Egg cells have many times the concentration of mitochondria (responsible for energy production) as regular cells.

CoQ10 helps produce ATP which is the energy for almost every biological process in our body.

There are two forms of CoQ10 (Ubiquinone and Ubiquinol), Ubiquinone needs to be converted by the body into Ubiquinol before it can be used, whereas Ubiquinol is already active and many times more potent, meaning that optimal levels of CoQ10 can be restored more quickly and efficiently.

Zinc

Female Fertility: Essential for many of the body’s functions, including normal cell division. Also supports normal cognitive function and the normal metabolism of fatty acids. Zinc deficiency is often found in women with fertility problems
and in long-term users of the contraceptive pill
