Often, people focus solely on the reproductive system when the truth is, fertility involves the whole body as well as the mind.
The mind-body connection is critical to fertility as all of the body's systems are interconnected by the nervous system. Your thoughts and emotions have an impact on your heart, brain, gut and your uterus.
Looking after the mind can help to ease physical stress and that is why Zita recommends meditation, mindfulness and other relaxation techniques.
Zita's Top Tip: Do some breathing and mindfulness work for 10 minutes per day.
We strongly believe in the idea that with balanced nutrition, you can eat yourself pregnant. As with all cells in the body egg and sperm cells require vitamins and minerals to keep them as healthy as possible. Eating a balanced diet will provide your body with the necessary nutrients it needs to keep all of your cells in the best possible condition, thereby maximising your fertility and chances of getting pregnant.
However, eating a balanced diet does not mean you should punish yourself by eliminating all of the so-called 'bad treats'. Having a glass of wine, a cup of coffee or some chocolate once in a while will not set you back. By allowing yourself some treats once in a while, you are more likely to stick to a healthier diet for a long time frame. If you start on a strict diet and eliminate all treats you will struggle to stay motivated, the diet becomes difficult and you are more prone to slip-ups.
